Overall attire: Two piece suit or a knee length dress with a suit jacket (must wear a suit jacket).
Colors and fabric:Black, navy blue, dark gray, brown, or tan. Solid or pinstripe fabric (NO patterns/prints).
Shoes: Closed toed shoes are appropriate. Heels must be 3 inches or lower (NO stilettos and platforms)
Jewelry, accessories, and body art: One pair of Stud earrings (NO large hoops). A maximum of one ring. If desired, a simple short necklace (ideally pearls). Avoid jewelry that is gaudy (bulky). NO body piercings or tattoos should be displayed. Pantyhose (stockings) in a skin tone color are a must. Bring a medium sized briefcase OR purse.
Pants: Long pants that are at the ankle or lower. NO capri and fitted pants.
Skirts: Must be at knee length or longer (skirts that are 1-2 inches above the knees are acceptable). NO high splits.
Blouses: Must be above the breast line (NO visible cleavage). NO logos or graphics. Only pastel/light colors.
Hair: Must be pushed away from the face in a conservative style (NO spunky hair with loud colors)
Makeup and nails: Makeup must appear natural, using only neutral and earth tone colors (beige, brown, mild gold, etc). Nails must be well manicured with clear or neutral colored (beige, medium to light brown, etc.) polish- NO long nails.
Perfume:Preferably no perfume, but if desired wear a mild/light fragrance.
These guidelines are restricted to themselves; however, you can still be versatile while adhering to them. For example, You may want to add a personal touch to your outfit. You can do this by simply mixing and matching pieces. Also, depending on the industry/company where you are applying, the dress code may not be as strict. Namely, if you are interviewing for a job in the fashion industry (clothing store, fashion magazine, etc.) you should express your artistry in your attire. In this case, you have the liberty of wearing more vibrant colors.
